About the event

The Romanian-Norwegian couple Mihai and Lisbeth Gheorghiu move to Norway with their children after the passing of Mihai's parents, seeking to be closer to Lisbeth's family, who share the couple's deep religious convictions. Before long, a close relationship develops with the neighbouring Halberg family. Mats Halberg works as the principal of the nearby school, while his wife Mia has left her career as a lawyer to care for Mats's ageing father. As the friendship between the neighbours deepens, the Halberg family's rebellious teenage daughter Rakel begins to change, and when the Gheorghiu family's daughter Elia suddenly appears at school with bruises, suspicions are raised about what is really going on behind closed doors. Soon the two families find themselves pitted against each other in a growing conflict over upbringing, faith, and freedom.
