About the event
During the year of 2026, Region Östergötland aims to promote outdoor activities for the benefit of public health. As part of this initiative, the Region, in collaboration with Realgymnasiet, is organising guided tours along the Östgötaleden trail at various locations throughout Östergötland during the month of November.
Here in Söderköping, you will enjoy a guided tour along the Borgbergsleden trail, part of which runs alongside the Göta Canal. The hike takes you through the ancient forest of Ramunderberget and past the historical remains at Borgberget. The walk begins and ends at Smultronstället by the Göta Canal.
This trail is somewhat demanding, as sections of it pass through hilly terrain with steep ascents and descents. However, it largely follows forest paths with shorter stretches along gravel roads. The route is also currently subject to a realignment, as part of the trail has had to be closed due to construction work connected to the E22 road and its own new realignment. On this occasion, participants will have the opportunity to walk the newly drawn section of the trail.
